How it Works

We accept payments via Visa, MasterCard, or debit over the phone, by e-transfer to info@catutopia.ca, or in person at drop-off or pick-up. 

Stay payments are due at drop-off. Please note, we do not take appointments solely to make payments. 

We know how much you want to hear about your cat while you’re away. We’ll provide updates as often as you like via email, social media, or phone call. 

To make sure our team can focus on giving your cat the best care, photos and videos are limited to once per week, but we post daily on social media, so keep an eye out for glimpses of your kitty enjoying their stay! 

Every day looks a little different depending on the number of cats, staffing, and scheduled appointments — but our structure and care standards stay the same.

Mornings
We start the day with breakfast and a full room tidy. Each room is refreshed, litter boxes are scooped, and dishes and water are replenished. While we do this, we also take detailed notes on each cat’s health and wellbeing — including appetite, litter box habits, energy levels, hairballs, and any other observations. This helps us spot anything unusual early and ensures every kitty is feeling their best. During this time, each cat also gets a chance to explore their surroundings and stretch their legs. 

Midday
Each cat gets a dedicated turn with a staff member, tailored to their personality and preferences. Some cats enjoy pets and gentle cuddles, others prefer play, and some just like to explore at their own pace — we let them lead the way. During this time, cats in rooms with glass doors can observe the rest of the facility, which provides extra mental stimulation and social engagement in a safe, controlled way. Our goal is full attention and enrichment, ensuring every cat feels secure, stimulated, and cared for. 

Evenings
As the day winds down, we check each room, clean litter boxes as needed, and serve dinner according to each cat’s individual schedule. Cats also have the opportunity for another supervised run around if they want, giving them extra exploration and interaction before bedtime. This second activity period helps maintain a calm, enriched environment and ensures each kitty is ready for a peaceful night. 

Cats are fed up to four times per day, based on what they’re used to at home.

Because cats are not intermingled, they can safely observe the activity of the kennel through their glass doors while still having their own private space.

When you arrive, we’ll go over your cat’s feeding schedule, routines, and any special instructions. While you guide us through their care, we’ll make sure their room is perfectly prepared — cozy, familiar, and ready for their stay. 

For your cat’s comfort and safety, owners are invited into the kennel only for the first drop-off. After that, our staff takes the lead with their daily interactions, helping your cat settle in quickly and build trust. 

We also take care of your cat’s carrier while you’re away, labeling and storing it so your kitty’s belongings are safe and ready for pick-up. 

At pick-up, your cat and their belongings will be ready and waiting. We place your kitty in their carrier shortly before your arrival to reduce stress, so please keep them in the carrier when you get here. 

If you’re running late, just give us a call — we’ll adjust the timing to keep your cat comfortable. Our goal is to make reunions calm, happy, and stress-free for both you and your furry friend.
