Living in Vancouver means finding people you trust can sometimes feel harder than finding great sushi. When you’re heading out of town, leaving your cat behind is a big deal. If you’ve been searching “cat boarding near me,” you want an experience that feels personal, where your cat is known for more than their room number. That’s exactly what we’ve built at Cat Utopia in Surrey. Every stay is shaped around relationships, routine, and helping cats settle in at their own pace.
A Bit About Where We Are
We’re based in Surrey, in a quiet suburban space built specifically for cats, not adapted from a kennel or squeezed into a strip mall unit. It’s the kind of place with room to breathe: private rooms, real windows, and a calm that’s hard to find in the middle of the city. With valet pickup, the distance stops being your problem to solve.
Why Our Care Is Different
We’re a little obsessed with cats… in the healthiest way possible.
Cat Utopia has never been about filling our rooms. We built this business because we believe exceptional cat sitting is about the whole experience, not just the stay itself. From booking your visit to welcoming your cat home, every decision is made with care. We invest in our staff, support our community, and keep learning because better people provide better care. That’s the kind of cat hotel we’d want for our own cats.
Valet Service
Our Cat Taxi service takes the drive off your plate, no crossing the Port Mann with a cat who’s already decided today is the worst day ever. We’ll pick your cat up from your home, whether you’re in Kitsilano, the West End, Gastown, Coal Harbour, Yaletown, Commercial Drive, East Vancouver, or somewhere in between, and bring them home again after their stay. Pricing is based on distance, not neighbourhood, so nowhere in the city is off the table. Most Vancouver pickups run $75โ$150 each way, with YVR at the $150 tier. Daytime pickups run 10 AMโ2 PM and need 7 days’ notice; evenings run 6โ8 PM. All valets are subject to staffing, so book early if you know your dates.
It’s like Uber, but for the fluffy ones.
If you’re stocking up before your cat’s stay, we’re big fans of Korna Pet on West Broadway in Kitsilano for quality food and supplies.
Community Matters
Cat Utopia has always been about more than “just another cat kennel.”
We’re their friends. You’re their family. ๐งก
We believe businesses should make their communities better, whether that’s creating opportunities for our team to grow, supporting local rescues when we can, or simply being the kind of people you’d trust with your favourite little weirdo.
